Lots more radio info @: DELCO CAR RADIO SERVICE
FACTORY CERTIFIED 59~75 so make sure to check it out!
Jaguar Radios 59~75 being the same as Corvette Radios use a speaker mounted loading coil with out this coil bias on speaker goes to 12 Volts D.C. burning out the voice coil in the speaker and then the DS-501
I have ran across new speaker that are said to be for
1959 through 1975 JAGUAR~CORVETTES but have a .5 ohm coil IN
PLACE OF A 1.5 OHM. This will cause bias on speaker
terminal to drop to .5 Volts D.C. IT SHOULD BE 1.5 Volts
D.C., overheating radio in about 15 minutes, sound becomes
very fuzzy, gives you a headache! Along with slowly over
heating wiring harness all the way back to battery. Drain
on fuse is not enough to blow fuse only to slowly break
down insulation on wiring causing a short that could burn
car to ground!

One half of a comeback since 2005. The owner of a 63 Corvette WonderBar had to have unit back to make the big car show! Unit would stop on FM Converter but not up to factory specs. So i returned it to him while i searched for a parts donor unit.
BUT do not have time to help You identify a unit to sell on eBay [all the info i have is on the model# code page]
Nore to help one hook up a barn fine aka eBay unit to see if it works! Witch should only be done by a qualified tech.
""NO TIME LINE PROGNOSTICATIONS!""
""NO RUSH JOBS!""
I will NOT return a unit until i fell the:
""JOB IS DONE RIGHT!""
"NO BEING RUSHED"
Send or calling with a 'just checking on the progress on my project is coming does one thing: ""SLOWS DOWN SHOP PROGRESS" And, on Your project most of all!
"NO RUST BUCKETS"
"NO RAT'S NEST"
"NO TP TUBES FOR PACKING"
Not doing so leaves the door wide open for those dreaded ''COME BACKS!''
That i hate more than You do!
2012 In an effort to speed up turn around time on the 58~85 era units I no longer service the pre 1958 models. In the past 10 years or so. I have restored about 75 of these vibrator units. They consume a great deal of time because of my lack of expertise and, learning curve on them. The amount of parts that must be replaced in a Basic Electronic Restoration. With some parts only to be found in donor units and, the unbelievable price they go for now days.
I did enjoy the challenge of orientating my self to that era of technology but found my self forgetting about the weeks I was spending on them, losing jobs on 58~85 era units that i know like I know how to eat breakfast!
No Radios or Parts for sale!
NO FM conversions
NO Antenna repairs
NO tech advise outside of my restoration projects.
PLEASE! Do not send me a radio! Until I give You shipping authorization.
PLEASE!
CONTACT
me to check on my current work load.
I may have You ship unit IF i am working on other same model projects, or may ask You to reserve a place on my work list. By printing out and sending in this WORK ORDER with a $25.00 RSVP fee check. [fee will be deducted from the basic electronic restoration rate, but not refunded]
(((My goal is to work on units as i am requested to. BUT it is more productive to work on them in batches of like radios. The more of one unit i work on the more repeatable the work is. Then i do not have to think about witch way to turn a part to get it to fall into place, it just happens!)))
''PLEASE'' MAKE INFO ''READABLE''!
Please put a work order in with unit! when it is sent in. This work order is what i follow to restore You unit! I will remember nothing from a phone call or email so IF You do change work request keep reminding me of that change! OR it most likely will not get done!
If i have You send in RSVP or SHIP Give it time to make it into shop then send email. ALL EAMIL: WITH YOUR NAME AS SUBJECT. Stating that i should have received it. I will reply then save that email for further contact. When You ship use UPS tacking to follow Your project to my shop door.

Certified and, trained by RCA & Motorola on there audio products at 13, Delco in 1967 at the age of 14.
I did not get Zenith's certification back in the day because they all ready had a TV tech in the area BUT i did do his audio work!
Amazed! my self! I was told that the golden age of radio was the 1930s `and, all the young ones of the day knew about radios was to go down to Walgreen's purchase a unit small enough to hide then use an ear piece in English class. They simply found know one else of my era even working in radio repair shops so they could be trained. Then started paying a not so bright 14 year old $125.00 flat rate for 2.5 hours on each unit they sent me. The Delco man said: "I was on my way"!
The next man on the list was 55 41 years older than i.
A few years later Dr. M.R. Bose was certified so i get to call him Jr.
I was told by the time i was 50. GM expected a 1958 Corvette to be worth $20,000.00 and they wanted to make sure there would be factory trained techs to take care of there radios!
