This page is a work order list of things to fix & problems found post over haul of my 1942 2N Ford Tractor.

NOTE: since head, transmission, clutch pedal side break hub will be coming back off tractor. Just before they are put back together call me so i can come down and see all the new parts installed & reassembly. I need two hours max to be at Your shop witch is one hours drive from mine 53.4 miles away.

NOTE: i want to come down when You are finished with tractor and do a check out as well. NO use having Tractor out on the road IF i can keep him from it.

The Alto clutch kit i sent was not used on first overhaul. It is a top quality life time kit i want it to be installed on Tractor this time!

First work order asked for new gas tank, sedlement bowl with round knob turned to the back like is on Tractor now. AND i sent a NEW Dennis Carptner's cap.

First work order asked for a new O ring type ram piston and new gaskett on pump. I can see no new gaskett was installed? What about piston?

I have made a new battery mount so battery can be moved down by the starter like the 8Ns have them. It will require the removal of the wiring tube & i want tube OFF so i can pull distributor cap and wires off together for service. The only problem i see is the top arm for mounting alternator is welded to tube but should be no problem. Just cut off part need to hold alternator in place. Plug end boots will pull off wires with a genital twist &, pull, boots are silicone glued on insulation & terminals soldered on wire. IF possible i would like a plug wire holder like the side mount distributors N tractors have. Use a head bolt if need to mount to and bend holder to work? IF no holder then wire ties will work.

Starter on my tractor was only 4 years old and never once gave any problems! I want it back on my tractor. IF need be i can cut the bent bolt off for You.

Make sure to return the NEW Prestone 50/50 mix -40 protection, now in radiator back in my radiator! Use a funnel with screen to make sure no trash gets into radiator.

Right top lift arm not all the way on.

Left rear leaking hydraulic oil out bottom of brake drum.

Break do not seam as strong as the one on 8N? If possible adjust for stronger pedal.

Head: I want an original 8N head. Drilled and taped for sensor to the temperature gauge. IF drilling and taping head is above the capablities of Your shop i will take care of that.

Use copper coat seal on head gasket when changing out. I have 1/2 can i will send down for my job IF You do not have it?, want remainder back.

You said replacement head had a problem but could not remember what is was?

I checked replacement head, coop checked head & i sent head to machine shop to examine before i bought it and, they said fine? So i want replacement head i sent back if bad! I will return to the man i bought it from and get another IF need or my money back. And i will get my money back from the machine shop that said it was good!

Replace transmission block bolt below starter with one that is long enough to cover / use all the threads in block.

Cooling fan new spring 07 that was fine. Now dented large segments of paint missing? & rusting. STRAIGHTEN OUT THE DENTS AND PAINT IT BLACK.

Clevis clutch rod adjuster where it hooks to pedal. I had a prefect fit roll pin through BOTH holes, now has a bent half falling out bolt! Holding only on one side of clevis. AND one side of clevis bent.

Transmission housing that has the bottom two bolt holes broke out rebuilt. I sent good replacement housing to be used! I want a good housing with no breaks, cracks, or welds put on tractor!

The gears You showed me in Your shop in the milk crate were NOT the gears i sent as replacments, they had NO bad spots on any gears. I checked them three years ago when i bought them and again two week before You carried them to You shop. AND they were not the gears in transmission to be replaced! Gears in transmission on Tractor had many more broken gears than the set You showed me???.

PAINT ALL OF OIL CAP! WHEN CAP IS TURNED WITH FRONT MARKING TO THE FRONT IT IS TWO TONES OF GRAY!

Nice paint job on bottom of oil pan though!

REMOVE: Broken engine oil dipstick holder from block and replace with a good one. DO NOT just drive broken one in and punch another half way in [To make sure broken dipstick holder can not fall dwon in block, I want the bad part now in block!]. The block i sent down S/N 1139 had a prefect dipstick holder and i expect nothing else in the substitute S/N 8N209618 block.

I want engine S/N not to be painted over so it can be clearly read!

You stated twice that You had to drill out broken head bolts in block! The Block i sent had NO broken head bolts. It was missing 2? exhaust studs witch i sent replacments and want the unused ones back!

Oil pan drain plug not mine! I bought new 4 years ago! This one is missing screen!

After finding crankcase with a large amount of water in it because of rusted off dip stick holder, i expect an extended warranty on engine parts and labor of five years!

Going back to original statement about front end alignment not being right! Book says steering arms are to be over foot peg bolts. You have them about 2" forward of bolts.

When steering is turned all the way, front spindles do not hit stops. So when in the full turn mode does not turn as tight. AND when tires grab puts pressure on stirring box gears instead of the stops. Witch as i see it will cause PREMATURE WEARING & UNNEEDED BRAKEAGE OF STEARING BOX GEARS.

I sent a pair of good spindle housing with good stops. The stops on original housing returned on Tractor are beat up, chewed off, half missing. Weld up stops IF a good job can be done, or put the replacment pair of housing i sent on tractor. If You weld i want second housings sent back.

You charged me for new spindle bearings, bushings, seals i sent new ones.

You also charged me for new break shoes. I sent down new lingings with all but one rivett.

REMOVE: Odd ball hose clamp on air tube at crab and put the stainless steal one that was on it, it will matches every other hose clamp on my Tractor, back on it!

Replace odd ball Upper left lift arm bolt pin with one of the original type on the broken up upright arms i gave You for salvage. Please return 2 of the pins & clips.

Replace tie rod rubber boots with the 4 new ones i am sending down on 2nd trip to Your shop.

Return any item on tractor now not used like the ABS sheet under battery + post, replaced battery holder, wiring tube etc,
Items sent i wish returned:

Loader and 4 hydraulic cylinders.

Metal: Pack with a large piece 8X32 to replace blade on loader bucket. Two 2" x 24" two 1/2" X 24" two small 4x6 2X6

Hydraulic hose line T.

Any NEW items in 5G buckett not used on my Tractor.

Black folder with Summit Racing Logo on it that has the first work order i sent in with tractor.

Value adjusting tools in value train box.

IGNITION ROTOR that was on tractor it was a new D.C. ignition rotor $8.00 with 12+ hours

Old spark plugs

Unused oil pan

Buckets 2 X 5 gallon parts were in

Gas Can by now gas is so old dump it out on ground.

Old Carb

Was new fly wheel ring gear installed? IF not i want the one i sent back.

Steering spindles & arms replaced and second set of housings not used.

Upper lift arm pin X 2 form the broken up uprights i sent down.

Two NAPA type engine front oil seals to replace rope type sent. Only one should have been used IF not i want both back. Or one not used.

N engine rebuild video/tape

Front axle center bushing

Test Results:
We used tractor about 20 minutes on Sunday the day he returned it as done, to load his trailer with other equiptment he carried back to his shop. I ran Tractor about 10 minutes Monday and found pure water in radaitor. Witch if ran for any time is going to ruin seal in water pump so it will not hold Prestone. It will hold water though.
Left Tuesday moring before day light to drive 22 miles one way to get the closest Prestone storm coming up. 3+ inches of rain.
Wednesday drained raditor and refilled with 50/50 Prestone. Ran tractor a few minutes 3or4? while adzusting carb so it would idol at off throttle positon.
Cut Tractor off to check for coolant leak. When i went to start i checked oil, found more water than oil because of dip stick holder rusted off.
Was advised to let oil drain for 3 or 4 days and refill and change out filter as well. I let it drain until Sunday afternoon. Motor is as quite as a mouse all i can hear is new 100 Amp one wire Delco alternator and exhaust*. Road arround on tractor for about an hour and let sit at 900 RPM idol for another hour with out any problem.
So far behing in radio work i only started Tractor a few times until Wendesday of the next week where i filled scoope with rocks about 8 times and dumped, then starter hung and spins with motor. Advised to run Tractor as little as possible You would come back for and You would take to shop to repair damage done by overhaul.

Only have about 4 hours with tractor at this time after over haul.

Tractor starts and runs good with scoop as load. BUT just does not have the pop in the exausht the 1952 8N i now have for BushHogN does or the one at Your shop did?

Only problem i see with transmission is the two broken bottom case mounting holes.

Hydraulics work but, kind of jumpy, seamed to be getting better as used I did install a saftey value spring 07. But system would only raise very heavy duty model 12 BushHog about 4 inches, i seldom if ever used hydraulics in the four years i have owned tractor.
The pump needs a new gaskett where i stoped a leak with paint on new gaskett i put on spring 07 after having to remove pump to get the sockett i droped in changing out safety value. Untill then it never leaked a drop.

Hoped work to have been done right the FIRST TIME! And list of things i wanted done READ!

DO NOT LIKE TRACTOR OUT ON THE ROAD! It is DANGEROUS out there! You all but got run over leaving my drive with it the first time!

As You pulled right out in front of a silver car that had to lock down on breaks & pull around Your trailer to keep from hitting it! Risking his LIFE even more by being on the wrong side of road blocked by Your Truck & trailer, in a bad curve just over a hill where BIG Trucks jump it at 100MPH!!!??? Where i have seen people loose there LIFE three different times!!!

I NEED to be working on the radios sent to me over a Year ago! NOT having to pull in Your slack! This time ''PLEASE!'' make sure tractor is right with NO Bobbie traps to cause premature damage to parts or endanger my life!

Do all work for me to a J-15-KZSS mode or BETTER!

Forget originality! MAKE IT EASY TO WORK ON NEXT TIME!

Inspect ALL projects for any thing i may have missed!!! AND discuss them with me.
